A pretty random & obscure CD from my collection. I know very little about this band from Connecticut. Smackdown started in 1997 and released this 11-song CD in 1998 on SDP, which was their own label. Apart from this album, they appeared on a 7 Seconds cover compilation on Groovecore Records, that's all I know. Overall, this is pretty decent up-tempo straight-forward hardcore, nothing exceptional, but a nice listen nonetheless. It appears the band had Christian leanings ('Humanity') and were also pro-life ('Genocide'). I booked Smackdown for my birthday show up here in NY back in 1998. Bill was as follows: Fragment, Alterkation, Blood Has Been Shed, NJ Bloodline, Stand Tall, etc. Smackdown repped Uncasville CT and they were some SOLID DUDES! One of the guys also ran his own skate company, Essence Skateboards. Talk about a blast from the past, I'm 40 years old now LOL. Anyways can you please REPOST this album?!?! Also, I’m not too dumb, I just don’t know how to upload music in 2022, in case you motherfuckers thought this was some lame thread for deadbeat losers, it ain’t, I just literally have no idea how to hear these songs.
And I came here looking for the Smackdown songs, but the Think Tank and Crossthread stuff would be great to hear too. I did a polar plunge on January 1st listening to some combinations of these bands. That’s right bitches, jumping into the Atlantic Ocean on January 1st.
